First Baptist Church

Clothing Ministry

The Clothing Ministry is an expression of the church’s concern for people in need. This ministry provides for the distribution of clothing donated by Wake County residents, striving to provide adequate clothing for families, homeless person, those in transition from relocation or re-entry into the workforce, or any person with an identifiable need. It was established in 1983 and serves 1,000 people each month.

Hours of Operation: (follows WCPSS traditional schedule regarding closures)
11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Volunteers are always needed to welcome and interview clients, assist clients in clothing selection, sort donations and provide financial contributions. This is a great opportunity for church groups and youth to accrue volunteer hours. For more information, please contact the church office (919) 832-4485.  To sign up to volunteer, contact the Volunteer Coordinator at

Donations are always welcomed! Clothing donations are accepted Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.  Men’s clothes are always needed, all sizes.

FBC distributes toys and clothing to the community through Toy Joy – FBC Toy Joy shares the love of Christ with others each Christmas. Over 100 volunteers assisted and wrapped over 5,000 gifts for our Clothing Ministry clients and others in need within our community. Many lives have been touched through this ministry: not only the hearts of those in need, but the volunteers who give their toy donations, time, money and prayers for this ministry. Donations of toys and supplies are given by church members, Weekday Preschool families, Infant-Toddler parents and others to make our ministry a success. Businesses and community groups are welcomed to donate and get involved! If you would like to donate or volunteer, please contact the church office at (919) 832-4485 or email the Toy Joy planning team at
