Troy Dye

Food Services Director

Troy Dye began as our Food Services Director on January 1, 2018. Troy attended Harris Barber College and in 2009 was licensed as a barber. A few yeas ago, he opened Tailored Cuts Barbershop in Raleigh. While growing his barbering business, he continued to pursue his passion by cooking for his clientele, preparing weekly meals for families as a private chef, and catering private events. In 2017 Troy auditioned and made the cut for Food Network’s Cooks vs. Cons…and won! The chef judges were convinced that Troy was a “cook” and not a “con” and awarded him the competition prize over two professional chefs and another accomplished amateur. Troy professionally bottles his barbecue sauce, which recently won best mild barbecue sauce at the NC Hot Sauce Contest. Troy also serves as the Music Director for his church. Troy will have set office/kitchen hours at the church. By maintaining his own schedule with his business, Troy will be able to spend the time needed for the Food Services position. Troy and his wife Rev. Elesha Dye, who serves as a chaplain at Duke Raleigh Hospital, are the parents of Tiffany (8), Preston (2) and Reagan (7 months). Troy was born in Detroit and moved to Raleigh in 1999. Troy’s mother prepared church meals for years and she has been Troy’s biggest culinary inspiration and teacher. Troy’s passion and skill for cooking, his experience with managing a business, his warm and engaging personality, his work ethic, and his commitment to ministry servers us well as our Food Services Director.
