First Baptist Church Food Service provides meals for regular church meals, specials events and events being held at the church by church members or outside groups using the church facility. The Food Service is directed by prize winning chef Troy Dye and his staff.
The menus for upcoming Wednesday night suppers are as follows (all meals come with salad and bread):
October 9: Mediterranean meatballs with lentils, rice, and roasted vegetables; non-meat: chickpea stew; kids: pita and hummus
October 16: Mexican chicken casserole; non-meat option: vegan Mexican casserole; kids: nachos
October 23: smothered chicken with cabbage, pinto beans, and sweet potatoes; non-meat option: mock chicken
October 30: meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn; non-meat option: veggie meatloaf; kids: nuggets
November 6: chicken pot pie; non-meat option: mock chicken pot pie; kids: mozzarella cheese sticks
November 13: taco soup w/quesadilla; kids: taquitos.
November 20: meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans; non-meat option: roasted and seasoned portabella mushrooms with sweet potatoes topped w/cranberries and chunked avocado
December 4: spaghetti with meatballs and tomato sauce, steamed broccoli, and garlic bread; non-meat option: spaghetti w/tomato sauce.
December 11: shrimp and grits with Texas toast and fresh fruit; non-meat: cheesy grits.
December 18: vegetarian chili with cornbread
Cost of Wednesday night meals:
0-3: FREE; 4-12: $4; 13+: $8
$24 max per family in one residence
