Sisters in Grace is a group of women, mostly empty nesters, that picks a different book to study together each week. Meetings include lively conversation and times to share prayer concerns. Members also share a special meal together at least three times a year.
This is a group of women, mostly mothers of teenagers. Typically they choose a book to read together, discussing a different section or chapter each week. Their meetings also include times of prayer and support, and the members occasionally will take a retreat together. Not all participants are also members at FBC.
Theology on Tap meets over dinner on Tuesday nights. The discussion typically starts with the sermon topic from Sunday but, as happens at most dinner tables, the table talk switches over to other pressing topics (from news events, to church happenings, to events from our own lives). The group uses communal dinner time together to share thoughts, learn about each other, and grow in our faith journeys.
Works in Progress is a group of men and women, most of them 65 and up, who meet weekly to discuss a book and share thoughts about family, faith, and life in general. The conversation ranges from discussion of a book of the Bible to recent theological publications and frequently includes doctrinal, philosophical, or political contemplation.
Band of Brothers is a group of men who meet weekly, using books to enlighten, challenge and prompt discussion. Words such as fellowship, seekers, honoring honest doubt, more questions than answers, an almost magnetic attraction to attending, at times irreverent candor and among the first to call in a crisis. The ages range from late 50’s to 80’s with about a third actively working and the remainder retired. Not all are members of our congregation.
The Hook & Needle club is a small group that gathers monthly for fellowship, sewing and crafting. Each individual brings their own project and supplies, creating space for all who gather to help each other with different ideas and techniques. Any and all levels of experience are welcome! They meet on the first Monday of every month, from 7-8:30pm in the Church Parlor.
For more information on these small groups and how to connect, please contact the church office.
