Rev. Dr. J. Daniel Day’s tenure at our church (1996-2007) was followed by five years of ministry as a professor of preaching and worship at Campbell University Divinity School in Buies Creek, North Carolina. While there he wrote a short biography of our church’s founding pastor: A Gentleman of the Old School: Thomas E. Skinner, Baptist Pastor, 1825-1903, and a textbook, Seeking the Face of God: Evangelical Worship Reconceived (2013). If Jesus Isn’t the Answer, He Sure Asks the Right Questions (2015), Finding the Gospel: A Pastor’s Disappointment and Discovery (2020), and Lively Hope: A Taste of God’s Tomorrow (2021) have followed. Dan and his wife Mary Carol now live in Durham, and he continues to be active in interim and pulpit supply ministries.
