Crystal received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance Education with a K-12 licensure from Meredith College in 2001. She enjoys continued study and growth in the field of child development, brain development in young children, and arts education. She is certified in Triple P parent counseling, and has been recognized for her contribution to the early childhood community by Community Partnerships, Inc. She has also recently been chosen to present at the national early childhood conference NAEYC as well as the statewide NCAEYC. She strives to make First Baptist Weekday preschool an outreach to the downtown Raleigh community, with a focus on supporting parents and providing a play based program with a focus on social and emotional growth. She has taught in Wake County and Johnston County School Systems in several grade levels as well as serving as Creative Director/Dance teacher in the evenings at DanceArt studio, and also works for Allie Mae Carnes Studio doing private lessons. She started her time with preschool in the twos class, and has been serving as Director for 17 years. Crystal is the proud mom of three amazing children, Nathan (20), Savannah (18) and Addie Mae (13) and blessed wife of 22 years to Dan Bacon. She and her family are church members here at FBC and Crystal grew up in FBC’s youth group. Having been a church member here at FBC for over 30 years, Crystal has had the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of ways with children, teaching Sunday School, Mission Friends, helping with the dance ministry, serving as a Deacon and on numerous committees etc.
