The 2025 church picnic took place on a perfect Wednesday evening, the fourth of June, at Pullen Park. The sun was shining and it wasn’t too hot with plenty of shade for everyone to set up their chairs. Before the food was served, some were busy playing outdoor games like cornhole and frisbee. Others were sitting in their lawn chairs, enjoying each other’s company.
Following our meal of hamburgers and hotdogs, we played FBC Bingo. There were 25 spaces to be filled that required getting to know more about those present. It was during this time that we learned who liked snakes, who was left-handed, and who did not like chocolate, just to name a few of the bingo spaces. It’s hard to imagine that we got answers to all our questions, but we did and the winners were: Kinley Pegram (elementary division), Luke Foster (youth division), and Mary Burnette (adult division). Thanks to all who came, ate, fellowshipped, and played. –Social Committee |

Week of June 9
Wednesday—One Renaissance Office Complex Raleigh 11:30am–1pm
Thursday—church parking lot 11am–1pm
The progress of the choir loft renovation for much of the month of May was a process of discovery and discernment after shortcomings were encountered in the century-old floor framing. Conversation followed between the contractor, the engineers, the architect, and the church, with solutions now being implemented. During this week, new 18-foot-long joists are coming into the sanctuary to be introduced as support to the new framing to come. Stay tuned. |

What: A time of learning, worship, inspiration and fellowship
When: June 24-26
Where: Hyatt Regency at the Arch – St. Louis, Missouri
Why: To be in a place of belonging—where everyone is not just welcome to our table and in our communities but feels a deep sense of belonging in our Fellowship.
“So then you are no longer strangers, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built
together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:19-22
We’ll meet you under the arch!

The new issue of our First Foundations magazine is hot off the press, and ready for you to read! Magazines are currently available in the Lewis building lobby by the elevators. There are also copies of the magazine located at all entrances to the sanctuary for you to grab on your way out of worship. Feel free to get an extra copy for a neighbor who might like to know more about who we are, as we continue to reach beyond our walls. We are so grateful for all of our contributors (in order of their articles) — Anne Bullard, Michael Hood, Stan Crocker, Philip Lingafelt, Claire Willmschen, Holly Ivel, Carolyn Dickens, and Mary Hauser. A special thanks to our First Foundations magazine team that makes every publication come to life — Jen Foster, Anne Bullard, Claire Willmschen, Ginger Graves, and Leah Reed. You may access this issue on the church website, along with previous issues of our magazines. If you would like to receive a copy of First Foundations in the mail, please email Deborah. We hope you enjoy reading about Home from a wide range of voices from our community of faith!

The Japanese Baptist Church of Raleigh (part of our FBC ministry) is in need of a working 50” or larger flat-screen smart TV. In addition, we have some of our FBC classrooms that could benefit from a mounted TV. If you are replacing a flat screen TV (50” diagonally or larger that has full working inputs and a remote) we will find a home for it. Please contact
Wayne Hager, Church Administrator, before you bring your donation to the church. Thank you!
