A BATTLE FOR THE FBC CORNHOLE CUP
The annual FBC Block Party on September 2 was a huge success and included good fellowship, food, face-painting, and inflatables for the kids. People of all ages gathered to say farewell to summer and kick off the new church year. Food Services Director Ike Uzoma made sure everyone had delicious hamburgers, veggie burgers, and hot dogs with some great sides to eat. JAM soft-serve ice cream was a huge hit as people enjoyed the cold treat during an especially sweltering evening.
While the heat was certainly high as far as the temperature, the hottest place at the event was the cornhole boards where teams competed for the coveted FBC Cornhole Cup. Tournament organizer Wyatt Yelverton said the competition this year was tough, and it went down to the wire with Team Carter (Lynn and Caleb) and Team Helms (Chase and Asher) in the final game. Team Carter came away with the gold, and everyone is looking forward to a rematch next year. - Will Woodson |
