Our building was abuzz the last week of July with VBS fun as we painted, wove paper, built, launched rockets, pretended to wash each other’s feet, made music, and trusted our friends while being blindfolded in an obstacle course — just to name a few of the things we did! And all the while, we focused on Bible stories that pointed us toward CONNECTIONS — connections with friends, family, community, and most of all Jesus. Through our VBS mission offering, we were able to fill FOUR backpacks full-to-the-brim with school supplies and children’s books in Spanish for a school in La Fortunita, Honduras (the same school for which our Honduras team built a playground in June). For more pictures of our fun, check out our slide show in the Lewis lobby!
In addition to the sixty children who joined us, I’m so grateful for our leadership. When you see these fine folks around, please join me in thanking them for making it a wonderful week for our VBS children: Debbie and Royce Willmschen, Jay Foster, Charlotte Phillips, Cady Mercer, Suzanne Sanford, Amy Galvan, Dorothy Holley, Dawn Wade, Robin Willis, Anthony Petty, Becky Mercer, Ginger Graves, Lynn Loomis, Lynn Marshbanks, Crystal Bacon, Elizabeth Riley, Valerie Moore, John Hobson, Shirley Hobson, Leah Filomena, Margie Wade, and Emily Sands. It takes a village, and what a fabulous village we have! |
