Dr. Wayne Hager has served as the part-time Church Administrator since March, 2015. Wayne has served churches in Indiana, Kentucky, and North Carolina as pastor for over 30 years. A native of Lexington, KY, Wayne is a graduate of the University of Kentucky (BGS ’78) and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv ’81, PhD ’87), with additional graduate work at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, OH. He is a certified Intentional Interim Minster, a certified Transition Specialist, and does pulpit supply. Since leaving the full time pastorate in 2014, he has served First Baptist Church, New Bern, NC, as Interim Preacher and Nobels Chapel Baptist Church in Sims, NC, as Interim Pastor. Wayne serves as the Co-Coordinator of the Greater Triangle Area CROP Hunger Walk and is on the board of Trustees of Oak Hill Academy, Mouth of Wilson, VA. Wayne’s wife of 33 years, Rev. Joy Crutchfield Hager, died at Christmas time in 2015 after a courageous fight against cancer. Joy and Wayne have three adult children: Matthew, Nathan (spouse Mary), and Laura (spouse Cody). On October 1, 2018, Laura and Cody presented Wayne with his first grandchild, Adalee Joy Smith.
