Our children’s ministry offers a variety of activities for preschoolers and grade-schoolers throughout the year. We offer interactive, age-appropriate Bible study each Sunday morning for babies – fifth grade, and missions and music education on Wednesday evenings beginning with our two-year-olds. There are special events throughout the year such as our Children’s Christmas Story, Egg Hunt and Easter Story-time, Vacation Bible School, Family Mission Nights, and Wonderful Wednesdays during the summer months that provide for additional Christian education, mission involvement, and Christian fellowship for children of all ages.
Preschool Ministry (Birth – Kindergarten)
Our goal in the preschool suite is to teach our babies through kindergarteners of God’s love and the life and ministry of Jesus through nurturing relationships, developmentally appropriate Bible stories, multi-sensory learning experiences, and a safe and secure learning environment. We hope that children, from their earliest days of memory, will come to know church as a good place to be – a place where they will be affirmed and accepted not for what they can do, but for who they are as children of God. We offer opportunities for Christian education during Sunday School and Extended Session (worship care), Wednesday evenings during Mission Friends and music education, and at various other times throughout the year. Screened church volunteers provide leadership for all venues of Christian education.
Our goal in the grade-school suite is to engage our children in Bible study with life application skills, missions education as well as missions involvement, and to help each child begin to recognize the gifts God has given them to share with others. We offer grade-level Sunday School classes on Sunday mornings as well as occasional Children’s Worship. Most Sundays, however, our grade-schoolers are encouraged to worship with their families during the worship hour, and a worship preparation class is provided for our first graders in the fall of each year. During our Wednesday night program, Centerpoint, our first-fifth graders are invited to participate in age-graded choirs as well as Royal Ambassadors (RAs) and Girls in Action (GAs), both of which focus on CBF mission efforts at home and abroad. Other activities specifically for grade-schoolers include the GA Mother/Daughter Tea, the RA Car Race, and several weekend retreats in the spring, summer, and fall for our third – fifth graders.
